Our Zanzibar Pictures
Page 2
We decided to take an early honeymoon after getting married on the 13th of November, and with the assistance of Michael Sweeny from Zanzibar Travel we had sorted out a trip to Zanzibar.
Our adventure began on the 8th of December when we boarded our flight to Nairobi and then on to Zanzibar. We had 6 nights in Matemwe Bungalows which is located on the North East coast of the island of Ungunja, more commonly known as Zanzibar. Zanzibar was under the control of the Sultan of Oman as recently as 1964, when a revolution made Ungunja, Pemba and the other islands independant entities which then became part of the country of Tanzania, maintaining a level of independance with their own parliment and prime minister.
We would then have 3 nights in Stone Town, the largest city in Zanzibar.
Matemwe Bungalows was an amazing place, and our bungalow was right on the shore, overlooking the azure waters of the Indian Ocean.
On the following 16 pages you will find images from Matemwe and get an idea why we had such a marvelous time. Click on any of the images for a larger version.
