Wow, well that was the tougest marathon yet, even harder than the 1st one I think! I didn't take the time to train properly, and hadn't been on my skates since the 2006 event, which was a bad idea...
Halfway through the second lap I thought I would have to pack it in as I just couldn't stay in the skating position and move my legs very well, that and the wind was really really strong.
I think the results between 2006 & 2007 speak volumes because there were 650 finishers this year, compared with 789 last year, I think down to the stronger winds, which always seemed to be in your face.
But, I struggled through and actually was amazed I finished as fast as I did, but hey, the main thing is to finish right? :)
So the lesson learned for next year is to change my training schedule a bit and take it more rigourously and get some more miles under my wheels before the actual day.
