Day 1

Ending Location: Toronto, Canada

Sites seen: Gatwick, M25, Lester B. Pearson Airport

The day started very early, very early indeed! Having gone late into the night with our wedding festivities, it was a struggle when the alarm when off at 0530h, summoning us from our sleep.

Our taxi was booked at 615h to take us to London Gatwick Airport for our Zoom Airlines Flight 711 to Toronto. We traveled with my best man, and best friend, Doug Blaylock, and his wife Deborah and daughter Olivia.

We were whisked away, well driven away, and boarded our flight without incident. Caz and I were traveling 'Premium Economy', whilst the Blaylocks were back in cattle class, erm, economy. Not that it mattered as we were so beat they could have stashed us in the hold and we wouldn't have known the difference.

We landed in Toronto around 1800h local time, had a farewell drink with the Blaylocks and then went to pick up our rental car. As we walked to collect our vehicle, I paused to check out a Chrysler 300M, and decided to see if we could upgrade, as the 300M is massive and equipped with a huge Hemi engine. Upgrade complete, we were on our way to our hotel, The Grand.

After check-in, it was time for a rest, to get ready for Day 2.
